A STONE UPTURNED

THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO CHOICES IN LIFE ,EITHER FACE THE CONDITIONS AS IT IS OR TO TAKE THE RESPONSBILITIES  TO CHANGE THEM

so here i am going to discuss with u a stone upturned,an incomplete dream, a journey yet to be completed

It happened one fine day when i was in my dad's clinic attending his patients as he was out of town and a woman"Saraswati" came with a 1 year old baby burning with fever
i took the temp n it showed 103 i scolded that lady 4 not bringing her child earlier n she
started crying ,saying she didn't had money for fees n pills{to which i really didn't pay much heed b'coz its a common site in dad's clinic}
then she told me her story she was married to a man 3 yrs back with a dowry of 10000 rs n the man ran away with the money leaving her pregnant,she came back to her home did some servant's job in nearby houses n his family didn't care 'bout her daughter whether she was ill or not 'coz she was a "girl"
she went away ,i didn't charge her but that wud not solve her problem ,i gave it a thought a whole night that what can be done with these illiterate,cheated,downtrodden women
n the other day i got a call from one of my aunty that she needed an aaya cum housemaid who can take care of the twin babies that her daughter in law has recently delivered n if i knew someone
there i was god had showed me the way i recommended saraswati's name n she was kept with a good pay'a place to live
after a few days she came with her sister to"didiji who is like god to them" this girl was 10th pass{i thanked god} n wanted to be self dependent like her sister i recommended her to one of my frnd for receptionist's job{n i sincerely thank Dr Sudhir for employing her}
so guys from there came the idea of"NAARI-AN ORGANISATION FOR MAKING WOMEN SELF DEPENDENT"
i decided to make these women self depndent
but as i said earlier "NAARI" was not an easy task'an organisation that too involving women,many legal formalities n when i became totaly irritated one of my really close frnd adviced me to delay the idea n said"ek aurat ki madad ke liye pehle khud aurat banna padta hai"
n he was correct i was very young and all alone to carry it forward so i dropped this idea for a time being
n one sun morning when i was having cofee a group of women came to my house {guided by ever so dear S araswati of course} n everybody with a common story-cheated,exploited,dowry victims,leftovers
recommended 9 of these women to residential based maid jobs[by my mumma's help of course,thank you mumma n i love you}
so they are earning ,are self dependent n all 11 of them are working hard to live a life of respect
i may not have been successful in giving them an organization but when one fine day "Saraswati"came to my home with a box of sweets 'coz she has admitted her daughter to a nearby school.she fell on my feet n said"Aapne mujhe aur meri beti ko izzat ki roti di hai didiji bhagwan aapko khub barkat de"
i realized i had done nothing i just showed them a way -way to self respect n thereafter all 11 of them carried this tough journey themselves
n hey "naari"wud be there one day working in the field of women empowerment thats a promise i make it to myself n too everybody reading this
i would like to quote Robert frost here
"TWO ROADS DIVERGED IN A YELLOW MOOD
N SORRY I CUD NOT TAKE BOTH
BEING A TRAVELER I STOOD BY
N FINALLY TOOK THE OTHER,NOT SO FAIR
AND PERHAPS HAVING A BETTER CLAIM
'COZ IT WAS GREASY N FULL OF WEAR
YET DOUBTING TO WHERE IT LEADS
I TOOK THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED BY
N YES THAT'S MADE ALL THE DIFFERRENCE"

  6. Hey...It is really very good. I do feel the need of initiating such work at each individual level. Once we will start this,None of the saraswati will die...in fact every one will get life with honor and satisfaction.
    This incidence mentioned has turned my eyes into tears... It is very sensitive and many of us has the real time experience about it.
