As the name itself suggests, it is the lord of all the cricket destinations. A must must see for all sports travelers ,The Lords boasts itself of the richest history in class and cricket since it was established in 1814. It was established by Thomas Lord back in 1814 and the ground has the name from its founder, It has been the venue for some of the greatest matches in cricket history.

The Lords cricket ground is home to the Marylebone Cricket Club, and also the county team Middlesex of London who play their home matches at the Lords.

    2)   The Oval, Kensington ,London

The oval holds the distinction of holding first test match of England as well as Football world cup final. Oval is the best looking stadium in the world and over the years have been host to manny thrilling Ashes test matches in the past.

And as the name old suggests . But the interesting thing is that Aussies defeated English in both the events.160 years of action has produced a slide show of best cricketing memories.. Perhaps the most memorable, for all the wrong reasons, was the "underarm delivery" from Trevor Chappell.

Sydney cricket ground is beautiful and do plan a visit to this Architecture’s marvel , Sydney was a witness to the monkeygate incident between Harbhajan singh and Andrew Symonds .Don Bradman’s iconic inning of 452 not out and Rickey Ponting’s maximum three figure scores were made here at Sydney.

3)   WACA ,Perth ,Australia

Famous for being one of the fastest wickets in the world, the WACA has long been a pace bowler's paradise. Glenn McGrath registered his best ever figures of eight for 24 here against Pakistan. Brett lee has added many feathers in his cap at this same ground .

Eden Gardens is considered the difficult passage for any team playing against India with thousands of fans screaming . Riots, World Cup finals, stampedes, hat-tricks, the greatest turn over matches of all time and even more riots. What more could you possibly want?

Who could forget the astounding win of India in the last world cup finals here at the Wankhede with the ecstatic crowd radiating the frenzy to the whole country . It observed Ravi Shastri's six sixes and Sunil Gavaskar's 205 against the West Indies,but we the Indians would always remember it's most poignant moment when Sachin Tendulkar walked off the field for the very last time in November 2013.

The 2003 world cup final of India vs Australia must be etched in memory of millions of cricket fans played at the wanderers. The ground is nicknamed "The Bullring" by locals due to the circular shape and intimidating atmosphere generated by a partisan home support. Opened in the mid 20th century, the stadium has played host to many memorable moments including Michael Atherton's marathon innings and the highest score ever.

MR M. L.Sharma – do you actually exist?

Hello Mr Sharma .

I am someone’s daughter  and a darling daughter ,I work in Bihar ,I travel across India for  freelancing ,for my stories for a travel show that you must not have watched because at that time you must be busy watching some spiritual movie .

I stay alone ,I travel solo ,I am sometimes late due to work ,I am fond of movies and I usually watch evening shows with friends who are boys too. I wear shorts ,I go on holidays to Goa ,I laugh loudly ………..exactly my point is I am a bad girl according to the definitions that you carry in your head.

You actually said this bullshit that a girl is like a flower, and all men are supposed to protect that flower. Yes I am pretty but I am not a flower .i know how to scream ,how to raise my voice and this was taught to me by a man – My dad. I do get molested ,everyone does and why not with douches like you we can never be safe and yes f I get followed or chased , another man protects me – my best friend ,my brothers but I am no flower Mr Sharma ,I can be a thorn too and better you don’t forget that .

And what was that sweets being howled by dogs. You actually exist? Do you have a daughter? Mother? Sister? Wife ?........No? or do you feel in your own words “ SEX IN THE EYES” when you see the goddesses in the temple . When you work at the court there may be so many female employees ,your colleagues ,you actually get “SEX IN THE EYES” on seeing them?

We are aghast ,each of us at your comments more than the rapist himself and Mr Sharma ,why are you still practicing law .there are many lawyers in the country , go make one organization called “All India Rapists union” ,chair it and tell the time when we should be out else we get raped ,tell us the clothes that we should wear so that you did not get something in your eyes .

The BBC documentary was pretty average but you have emerged quite a favorite ,favorite to puke out choicest of abuses against you. A person who has brutally raped with not even a tinge of remorse preaches that they needed to teach a lesson to the girl who was out in the night with a guy .but A rapist who grew up in a slum with no  access to women in diff roles thinks their place is in the kitchen. You are surprised why? I am not because someone educated as you is there with their theory of “Women are like flowers”( to be torn apart just for a day) ,”Women are like sweets (to be consumed for pleasure ) and “Women are for sex ( to be ,arey.... ye to you already know).

Fate's way of uniting assholes - Of all the defense attorneys in India, what are the odds that a bunch of rapists go for like minded douches.

And then we have a government who mindlessly bans a movie and leave the rapists like you in the open .

Before i end ,let me tell you that we may not be proud of the Indian culture that you advocate ,but we are proud of that girl who was raped once by those beasts and twice when we heard you speaking . Being raped is not a shame ,people like you are .

Book Review- Ramayana-The GAME of LIFE

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Shubha Vilas , a qualified engineer ,motivational speaker and a spiritual seeker  has come out with the book “ Ramayana- the game of life ,Shattered dreams” as a sequel to Ramayana series . I got hold of this book through blogadda and here is my review of the book .In the cover page the author writes

I congratulate the author for writing an English version of an epic written and mostly available in a sanskritised hindi form . With an easy to adept language and foot notes with ethical connotation , there are many leadership ,management and leadership mantras scattered all throughout the book .

History writing in India is just about 300 years old and is not exactly reflective of our past. The first generation of history writers in India was European, the second generation was nationalist and the third generation in the post-Independence era was dominated by Marxists, who use European tools of analysis. The Europeans have not considered Puranas and Itihasas as historical sources and simply called them myths. If Rama's story is not true then how has he survived in the collective memory for so long? People do not care whether Ram is historical or not. He is truth for them. India's need is a special study of its past and the truth of its past cannot be denied. We need to Indianise our history writing.

 The content of one Ramayana may be different from the other but the existence of Ram, Sita and Ravan is consistent. That's the truth. I might not know anything about my great great grandfather but I can't deny his existence for lack of evidence or how else would I be here? Similarly Rama's existence need not be proved by historical procedure

THE STORY UNFOLDS….

The story is what we all know,the oldest epic Ramayana . So without divulging the well known details of the life of warrior prince Rama ,this modern interpretation stands unique in the way syllogisms are drawn from our nature, environment around us and little things that matter. The message, which is more important than the story has been beautifully presented while keeping the reader hooked with flawless storyline.

LOOK OUT FOR

·         Unique footnotes giving lessons about our mind ,love ,relationships ,leadership and everyday              conduct

·         Simplistic and beautiful language with wonderful comparisons

·         Motivational bend to the epic we have grew up listening to

·         A great piece to read out to your children and getting them hooked

I wish it had……..

·         A reinterpretation in a different way making Rama more of a human than a god we worship

·         Language – words like Mumbo Jumbo could have been avoided

·         A greatest danger to rewrite an epic is the chances of reader leaving the book saying “I already           know that” ,this was felt intermittently

TRY A NEW EXPRESSION THIS VALENTINE

Its valentine day and the color of town is red . Being single is a great thing, but on days like these, having a tough time is natural, because it’s not every day that you see people indirectly reminding you about how you don’t have a soul mate.What has actually destroyed the whole generation of youngsters is “ Dil to paagal hai” ,this idea of someone giving you hint that he or she is the one ,bells ringing, music in the background ,wind blowing at the back drop and a guy on his kneel……….Hello Hello wake up ,the movie made its money and now time to get real .

Love is a beautiful feeling ,the feeling of togetherness ,the feeling of being special to someone and making someone special but it does not have to be that age old way. Try something new ,Try something refreshing ,Try something funny in short try YOU

  1)   Sing a song – How about singing a song for the one you love ,not that “ Will you be my valentine “ types but something like “ Mujhe to teri lat lag gayi “ ,add the topping of a spicy song to make it less sweet and who knows your partner will love this surprise.

 

  2)   Go Trekking- Yay!! For all you travelers out there how about some trekking together or a drive along less treaded pathways. ok I accept Udaipur is downright romantic but so is Biking in Ladakh

     3)   KISS (Keep It Simple Sweetheart) – Why does it always 

       have to be red roses,a guy on his kneels ,why can't it be just simple and beautiful with a promise           and a ring .

      4) Cook Together – Its Sunday this valentine         day ,so how about preparing a lazy Sunday brunch together and having a quiet,romantic time that your careers usually takes away

   5)   Write a letter – Everyone among us must have swooned to “Letters to Juliet” movie ,so take a note pad and write something for your love ,a little note from your heart and NOT FROM GOOGLE. You don’t have to be a words worth to say to someone that you love

DAMN YOU AIB ROAST .............HOW MUCH LOWER WILL YOU FALL??

SCENE 1 : A public toilet ,yes a ladies toilet with all the artists come alive portraying the two most important organs ,sorry two only organs of a female body ……..go demolish those damn toilets

SCENE 2 : A college class room , a medical college classroom ,where mortal men and women are turned into immortal gods i.e. Doctors filled with artistic demonstration of what you call a still porn with all the “F” word splattered around. ( don’t argue with me over that ,if you fail to notice I have a Dr before my name ) . Go ban those slutty doctors ,find them out and crucify.

SCENE 3 : A person hits someone’s car from behind and then what you hear in full public view is BEEP !BEEP! BEEP …………….how about shooting them at first sight.

SCENE 4 : The great Indian laughter challenge and comedy circus are a hit ,the misogynist ,sexist, racist and gender insensitive Masti makes hundreds of crores…………..Go burn the prints and the actors too.

SCENE 5 : The bazaaru literature with all the expletives and sex scenes are a kind of bestsellers ,I believe someone must be reading them?.............NO ,oh don’t murder me then.

What I am trying to say here is that its not like that we are a cultured ,complete no no society and AIB as an external force comes and destroys our values ,values which we may not have been preserving but indeed boasting since centuries . Before stating my opinion on the debate,let’s get our basics right ,all these jokes ,all these vulgur stuff were already flourishing in our society before AIB came out in open. We were finally "saying it in public what we say in parties " Rohan Joshi summed up the show.They were not saying something "alien" to us.But yes their breakthrough was making everyone uncomfortable by initiating a dialogue in public in a language that we have conveniently confined to our private spaces .Their sword was humour, the kind we indulge in with our friends. Stand up comedy is a form of resistance, resistance against "Don't say it Loud "culture.

I believe that they came out on you tube because they could not show it anywhere. You always have an option of closing the browser window if you feel offended. The rise of twitter and the fall of facebook in itself points to the thriving force of social media- Freedom ,freedom to say ,Freedom to vent .Have we become so intolerant a society that thoughts which are not in sync with the majority find a way out. The web based medium of you tube and short movies are a platform to have your own voice away from the state censorship.

The dispute is really the fact that the state cannot be selective about such actions. Threat to freedom of expression is the most disgraceful thing to be happening in the world’s largest democracy that takes pride in its fundamental rights of citizens.In the land of origin of Kamasutra ,the threat to creative freedom will kill any art that does not cater to the principles of majority.Even an criminal is given a chance to prove his innocence ,so why this ektarfa onslaught on artists?

The humour on the AIB Knockout was sharp and yes it was profanity.Should it have been diluted a little?I think No, you think Yes but do they really care what I and you think. I’m not advocating their idea of humour or roasting .The word roasting itself is self explanatory,its roasting someone ,insulting and making fun of . AND PLEASE AKBAR AND BIRBAL DID NOT ORIGINATE ROASTING (A right winged person tweeted me this most idiotic thing)  but intent and context are two crucial aspects to be kept in mind when one discourses upon what is it that constitutes the funny. Say they were bad, scorn them. Yes I accept that I won’t see it with my parents. But by maintaining silence on this whole issue of the video made to remove , you are letting someone snatch what we try to always clutch on –Our freedom

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALKA RAI,YES THE GIRL WHO RAISED A WAR CRY AT HER FATHER'S FUNERAL

Hi Alka

You are little ,just 11 years old but you sent shivers down the spine of entire country with your war cry before your father’s body ,motionless laden with flowers. You were talked about every where , you brought tears in the eyes of  many stone hearted people . Replaying the video on web ,I just wondered who taught you this .Not once in our lifetime we imagine ,not for a fraction of second ,we ever think of death of our parents .I still shriek out in the middle of night if I have a nightmare distantly resembling what you went through.

You must have made birthday cards sketching a mom, dad and your siblings. You must have demanded dolls and teddies from your mother.Did you? You must have waited for his leaves, attended the regimental parties and played with other army kids. You must have heard the Gurkha war cry while your father was commanding the unit or else the Brave Col. M.N. Rai must have told you about his unit. You must have watched those cartoons while growing up,You must have craved for the chocolate ice cream.

I as a grown up lady can only imagine you doing everything what children of your age do (would like to talk to you some day about it ) but then there you were amid Chief of Army Staff ,your mother weeping uncontrollably , your grandparents in shock , hundreds of men in uniform and yes you did something that made all of us realize what a man of steel ,your father was because though Col Rai attained martyrdom never ever to come back ,he has left behind a brave heart , strong ,proud and a truly patriotic junior Rai behind who definitely deserves a salute.

Dear Alka , you will grow up to be in armed forces ,I have no second thoughts on that .You will grow up and realize that this country forgets its true heroes . You will grow up and realize that we know more about bollywood and cricketers than our martyrs. You will grow up and realize that you will have to remind some about your brave father. You will grow up and realize that we remember out true heroes only during war, crisis or tragedy.

But you little girl ,You have a long life ahead , a life without dad at your graduation, your POP ,when you find a man for yourself . It would be tough but never ever leave the spirit with which you held your head high  on your father’s last journey,never ever let the indifference of people effect you for terrorist may have killed your dad’s body but his soul was right there when you shouted the war cry.

Yes a little promise at the end ,I will have a daughter some day and when she reaches an age she starts making heroes  ,I will tell her about you ,the brave little 11 year old Alka.
